What little I do know about Siagbo Dieudonne Eddie is that he was from the small African nation of Togo. Also, El Rego et Ses Commandos de Cotonou from neighboring Benin were his backing band. And I have seen one other record that he release on his own label…But that’s it.

If you have any further information, please contact me.

Catalog number 002 SDE Records of Lomé, Togo. No release date given.

UPDATE: 10/19/26

I recently received and email from Laurent Kinkpé. Here’s what he had to say:

Hello. I am writing here regarding the artist Siagbo Dieudonné Eddie. I first met him in 1974. I was 16, and he must have been around 25. He was a guitarist whom I greatly admired—I played guitar myself, though not as well as he did, and I was still quite young. I got to know him, hoping he might share some techniques with me, and I eventually became his rhythm guitarist. When we played together, he would handle the lead lines—often while singing—and I would provide the rhythm. Our duo later expanded to include a young drummer and a percussionist who also sang. Dieudonné soon came up with a name for the group: “Les Pilson”. Three years later, we lost touch; after completing my BEPC (middle school diploma), I moved to another city to begin my *seconde* (the first year of high school).

Later on, he released a 45-rpm record, followed by another two years later, featuring his musical partner—a woman named Martine, who appeared alongside him on the record sleeve. I do not know if they had any children together.

Siagbo Dieudonné Eddie is Beninese, originally from Dogbo, in what is now the Couffo Department.

I have not heard any news of him since then.
